Slick, new bowling lanes are raising excitement from residents who have stopped by the newly re-opened AMF Smithtown Lanes. 

"The first night of leagues last Tuesday we had two 300s. Two perfect games," said Don Stewart, general manager of AMF Smithtown Lanes. "It's unusual."

Arizona Bar and Grill now has a new name and new ownership.

Conolly's Pub is the new name of the bar and restaurant within the New York Sports Club shopping center. A bartender at the restaurant said that the new owner took over last month and has plans to renovate and update the business.

A Kings Park industrial company's proposal to build an indoor recycling facility instead of an asphalt plant is gaining attention from Smithtown Town officials.

Councilman Ed Wehrheim asked Smithtown Planning Director Frank DeRubeis if he would consider taking a look at Carlson Associates' proposal to build a state-of-the-art organic processing facility instead of an asphalt plant and trucking station on Old Northport Road, as per plans submitted Aug. 28, at Tuesday morning's town board work session.

Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove is about to get a wider selection of athletic

gear, as shoe store Skechers is set to open a new store there. A mall spokesperson said the 2,657-square-foot store, located across from the Apple store, will open sometime this week.
