Also this week, one local is taking a golf swing improvement idea to the market.

MILLER PLACE

Mt. Sinai Center to Feature Sushi and Steak House Restaurant

In the long wait for a vacant lot on Route 25A in Mt. Sinai to get a planned shopping center, not much has changed since a sign went up announcing a Thomasville Furniture store as an anchor. At some point, a new tenant had been recruited and added to the signage on the property. The sign on the property located on the north side of Route 25A just west of the Heritage Diner now says that Midori Steak House and Sushi will join Thomasville Furniture.

HAUPPAUGE

SMITHTOWN

Dynamite Clothing Comes To Smith Haven Mall

If you are a girl who fancies dressing like a celebrity, a new women's clothing store coming to Smith Haven Mall may be your newest shopping destination.

Dynamite, which says its mission is to "treat and dress every customer so she feels like a celebrity," will be located in the center court of the mall, by JC Penney. Attempts were made to confirm the store's opening date, but a spokesperson could not provide details.

KINGS PARK

Kings Park Grad Slices into Golfing Market

If your golf swing is a little rusty, Marc Reda may have the perfect remedy to get you back on track.

The 2005 Kings Park alum, along with a college classmate, took an idea and a love for the game of golf and made it into a thriving business. Essentially a golf ball on a bungee rope, Rope It is a portable and compact way for golfers to perfect their swing in a safe and pretty small space.

THREE VILLAGE

New Nursery School to Open in Stony Brook
When she was searching for nursery schools for her own children, Sarah Gounaris said she found schools that she liked – but not schools that she loved. So the Commack mom, who has a degree in child development and years of experience working in preschools, decided to open her own. Her preschool center, Mill Pond Nursery School, will open this summer for summer camp and then will start regular sessions in the fall of 2013.

COMMACK

Commack Teen Opens Trade Shop

Chris Quagliata, 19, may be fresh out of Commack High School, but he is no stranger to the buy, sell and trade business.

The Commack grad has been bidding on storage lockers and selling goods on e-Bay for the past few years, sometimes turning a tidy profit.
