The Business Corners Offers Free Work Space

Hauppauge co-working facility offers businesses affected by Hurricane a free workspace.

 

A Hauppauge co-working office is offering other local businesses struggling without electricity and Internet connections a temporary headquarters. 

The Business Corners, on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge, has opened up its office space free of charge through Friday for employees or companies who are eager to get back to business as usual.

Ora Scheine said the Business Corners is offering its office space, electrical connections, a few computers and Internet with Wifi free of charge through Friday to those affected by Hurricane Sandy. While there are no phone lines available, but the building is receiving steady cell phone service for most major carriers, according to Scheine.

"We are seeing a steady flow, " she said. "Some people are coming in with their kids, which is fine. We understand there's no school."

Despite the children, Scheine said the atmosphere has remained a quiet, professional work environment. People are welcome to come and work for an hour or two, or all day. 

The Business Corners has several private offices as well as networking space as its a rental business space who is waiving their membership and usage fees. 

"If things get bad, we may consider extending it through next week," Scheine said.
