Globecomm Systems considering potential sale

, a Hauppauge-based provided of satellite-communication services, saw its stocks rise 12 percent Wednesday after a report was released that the company may be considering a sale.

Globecomm hired J.P Morgan Chase to advise the company on a possible sale valuing the company at $22 a share.

Orbit International receives $950,000 order from U.S. Air Force

, a Hauppauge-based electronics manufacturer and software solutions provider, announced Tuesday that its electronic division, Behlman Electronics, received an order worth $950,000 from the U.S. Air Force.

The order is for different power supplies to be used in the Air Force's satellite communication system, the RC-135 airborne reconnaissance aircraft, and a high-voltage power supple used in the US. Navy's AN-UYO-21 display console.

Globecomm reported that its net sales increased by more than 23 percent in the first fiscal quarter of 2011, generating a net income of $524,000 compared to prior losses
