Chipotle to Open in Motor Parkway Plaza Next Week

The franchise opens fourth store in Suffolk County at the Motor Parkway Plaza near the Hauppauge industrial park.

Chipotle plans to open its next Long Island franchise in the Motor Parkway Plaza in Hauppauge on Aug. 30.

The Mexican restaurant chain has leased a 3,000-square-foot storefront at the eastern end of the Motor Parkway Plaza, located at 694 Motor Parkway, off Exit 55 in Hauppauge, that will offer a combination of indoor and outdoor seating.

The store will bring between 25 to 30 new jobs to the Hauppauge area, according to a company statement. Those interested in possibly working at Chipotle can visit the company's website for a full list of openings in Hauppauge.

Katherine Smith, a spokeswoman for Chipotle, said the company will purchase 10 million pounds of produce from local farmers, living within 350 miles of the store. The restaurant will purchase all its oregano from Paulette Satur of Satur Farms in Cutchogue and red onions from Hudson Valley farmers.

The restaurant's opening marks the franchise's fourth Suffolk County location, which include Deer Park, Huntington Station and Farmingdale.
