Hauppauge Industrial Association To Host 23rd LI Business Trade Show

This Thursday, HIA-LI expects more than 4,000 attendees and 375 exhibitors at their annual trade conference at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood.

The Hauppauge Industrial Association will hold the 23rd annual Long Island Business Trade Show and Conference this Thursday at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature more than 375 exhibitors with more than 3,000 businessmen pre-registered to attend.

"We have a lot more economic development programs this year," said HIA-LI President Terri Alessi-Miceli. "It’s not just walking the trade show floor, but the opportunity to get involved in these economic development program and executive programming."

The event starts with an executive breakfast at 7:30 a.m. featuring keynote speaker Ellis Henican, a political columnist for Fox News, Newsday columnist and nationally syndicated radio talk show host. Henican will discussion how Long Island businesses need to become "smart, crafty, creative and service-oriented to compete" in today's economy.

Alessi-Miceli said another highlight of the event will be the executive luncheon, where Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy and Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano will host a Town Hall style meeting with business executives.

"They will be speaking about many of the initiatives and things they are doing to help Long Island in this economy. We expect to be hearing about a lot of updates in those areas," the HIA-LI president said.

Walk-in attendees will be charged $10 for admission to the trade show floor with additional fees for the executive breakfast, executive luncheon and executive program "The Business of Clean Technology" at 1:30 p.m.
