Local Eateries Take Part in LI Restaurant Week

Foodies can eat their hearts out as the sixth annual Long Island Restaurant Week is in full swing from Nov. 6 to Nov. 13.

During the week of Nov. 6, nearly 250 restaurants throughout Nassau and Suffolk County will be offering a special three-course, prix-fixed menu for $24.95 to customers. The price includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Six restaurants will be participating in Hauppauge and Nesconset.

“We have 247 restaurants participating. It’s an increase from past years,” said Tara Berkoski, speaking for organizer WordHampton.

Berkoski said the increase in the number of participating restaurants in part due the economy, as restaurants attempt to draw in new customers.  There are 181 returning restaurants who have participated in a previous Long Island Restaurant Week, and 42 new eateries have signed on to this year’s promotion.

“It’s the most we’ve ever seen returning. Restaurants who have done this in the past have see what a good promotion it is for them,” Berkoski said.

and has signed up to participate in Long Island Restaurant Week this year. The Wobbly Olive, participating for the fire time, will offer a limited menu featuring a rigatoni past dish, Panko Chicken with mushrooms and black seabass as entree options.

Maria's, Ragazzi Italian Kitchen & Bar and Tate's Restaurant in Nesconset have also signed up to offer a prix-fixed, three-course dinner for eight nights. Maria's will offer an authentic Latin inspired menu while Ragazzi and Tate's both feature Italian-inspired dishes.

Participating restaurants have agreed to offer the prix fixed menu for eight days, all night, except for Saturday when it is only being offered until 7 p.m.
