PetSmart To Move Into Lake Grove Storefront

PetSmart is moving forward with renovating a Lake Grove storefront with hopes of opening in 2011.

The Town of Smithtown's board members unanimously approved an environmental SEQRA review of PetSmart's application to renovate the Bob's Discount Furniture Store building on Middle Country Road at their Tuesday meeting. This allowed Smithtown's Planning Board to give the company's building plans the stamp of approval. 

PetSmart will be moving into the Bob's Discount Furniture Store building, according to Smithtown Planning Board members. The site is a large, freestanding building on the corner of Middle Country Road and Moriches Road. It shares a parking lot with discount wholesaler Costco, opposite the Smith Haven Mall. 

PetSmart has opened more than 1,160 stores across the United States and Canada since its creation in 1994, according to their website. Its other Long Island locations include stores in Commack, Huntington and Farmingdale.
