Pharmaceutical Companies Eyeing Expansion in Hauppauge

Contract Pharmaceutical Corp. and Rochem International Inc. looking to expand, according to Newsday.

Contract Pharmaceutical Corp., currently based in Hauppauge, and Rochem International Inc., currently based in Ronkonkoma, are both looking to expand, according to a report published in Newsday.

Sources told Newsday that Contract Pharmaceuticals Corp. is in the process of purchasing a 70,000-square-foot building at 145 Oser Avenue, Hauppauge, for an undisclosed amount. That company is already in the midst of a major expansion at another facility, a $2.5-million project that will transform a mezzanine area into a production area. The company is expected to add 40 employees to its team of 900.

Newsday also reported that Rochem International Inc. has outgrown its 10,660-square-foot facility in Ronkonkoma and is eyeing a 60,061-square-foot building at 45 Rasons Court in Hauppauge. The Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency offered $335,403 in tax breaks for the move. The company, which employs workers both in the U.S. and China, is expected to add five employees to its team of 39.
