Pizzeria Prepares for Grand Re-Opening

New ownership takes over LoPiccolo's pizzeria in Hauppauge and expands the restaurant inside Pine Groves Shopping Center.

A Hauppauge pizzeria is awaiting the last permit it needs to re-open and start serving up slices to customers.

LoPiccolo's Pizzeria and Ristorante have been purchased by a new owner, Adam Gold, who has expanded the restaurant and is hoping to re-open any day.

The pizzeria has been closed since mid-April when it changed hands and closed for renovations. Gold purchased the pizzeria from local couple, Rhandi and Benny LoPiccolo, earlier this spring.

Gold said Town of Smithtown fire marshall inspected the restaurant and gave it a passing grade on Monday night. The pizzeria is now awaiting its official certificate of occupation before it can begin serving customers.

The new owner said he had workers putting together and throwing pizzas in the oven on Tuesday afternoon, with hopes of opening up in time for dinner service.
