Rinx Recognized for $1,000 Donation to Cancer Research

The ice skating rink was named for its commitment to fighting the disease on Tuesday.

The Rinx in Hauppauge was given special recognition during a kick off event for one of the area's largest fundraisers that aims to fight cancer on Tuesday at Commack High School.

For its $1,000 donation to the American Cancer Society last year, the ice skating rink was named a special sponsor in the high school's Relay for Life event.

Relay for Life will take place again this year at the High School on May 10. In the event, more than a thousand area residents will put on their gym sneakers for the overnight walk and fundraiser.
