Ristorante Forestieri Up For Grabs [Empty in Hauppauge]

Former restaurant on Townline Road has seen better days, hopes for new beginning.

Sitting atop a small hill, there hasn't been a tasty bite to eat at the former Ristorante Forestieri on the corner of Hoffman Lane and Townline Road in Hauppauge in more than two years.

Red awnings on the building still read "Casual Fine Dining," but don't come expecting a meal. The doors are locked and the pathway up cracked, littered with debris.

This former beloved Italian restaurant closed for its doors to business in 2009, shutting down its kitchen for good.

Meanwhile, the restaurant has become a ghost of its former self, its parking lot empty and forgotten. The small building attempts to blend into with surrounding residential properties on one of Hauppauge's most traveled roads.

Because the property is adjacent to several residential areas, we at Hauppauge Patch wonder what the community would like to see here? Would you like to see another business or residential home?
