Rock and Roll University Takes Show to the Major Leagues

Limited tickets are now available for student's Sept. 10 performance at a Mets home game.

Hauppauge's young rock musicians will have their chance to debut in the major leagues this September.

Rock and Roll University's students will perform a pre-game show at Citi Field on Sept. 10, before the New York Mets take on the Washington Nationals.

"We have some incredible talent to showcase at Citi Field, including one of the students of the school,  10-year-old guitar phenomenon, Brandon ‘Taz’ Niederauer, who has already played with Dweezil Zappa and Butch Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band," said Guy Brogna, one of the owners of RNRU.

THe musicians of Rock and Roll University will perform a four song medley on a stage behind first base on Citi Field starting at 6:30 p.m. Sydney Schizzano, a rising star at RNRU, will sing the national anthem at the start of the game.

After the first pitch, Rock and Roll University will take over Pepsi Porch concession area and continue to perform a rock concert throughout the game.

This is the third time Rock and Roll University students have been invited to perform at Citi Field in 2013, but the first time it will be before a major league game.

A limited number of tickets are available for $10 each to those interested in attending. Call Bill Mignoli at 631-656-5901 for more details.
