ShopRite Announces Reusable Bag Design Contest

Contest will support the company's anti-hunger initiative.

As part of its Partners In Caring program – a year-round hunger-fighting initiative –and its partnership with General Mills, ShopRite has launched a contest dubbed “Designed to Fight Hunger" in which it is inviting artists to submit designs for reusable shopping bags that bring attention to the problem of hunger.

The winning art will be featured on reusable shopping bags to be sold at all of ShopRite's 250 locations, including its Hauppauge store. The winner will also receive $2,500 and a matching donation to his/her local food bank.

“Our customers have always been dedicated to helping us in this mission and this contest is great way to enlist their generous spirit in the fight against hunger,” Partners in Caring spokeswoman Christine Magyarits said.

Those interested in entering the ShopRite contest can go to BagDesignContest.com and enter by Dec. 31.
