Sport-Themed Haircutter Coming to Hauppauge

Sport Clips, a national chain targeting men and boys, is expected to open within eight months.

A national sport-themed hair care chain targeting men and boys is expected to be opening up in Hauppauge in coming months.

Opening up in the Hauppauge Shopping Center at the intersection of Routes 111 and 347, Sport Clips has leased about 1,150 square feet and will be the franchise's second on Long Island among roughly 950 across the nation. Sport Clip's first foray into the area is located in Selden's Independence Mall, and the Hauppauge location is expected to open within eight months.

Greg Batista, a director at Sabre Real Estate Group, represented Sports Clips in arranging the lease with the landlord, Federal Realty Investment Trust. Joe Byrnes of Federal represented the landlord.

Sport Clips is looking for more opportunities for expansion on Long Island, targeting high-traffic shopping centers in spaces from 900 to 1,500 square feet, Jayson Siano, managing principal of Sabre, said through a statement.
