Silk Prepares for Return to Its Wall Street Roots

The big secret of what's happening at Silk is out as the night club prepares to return to its Wall Street roots.

Silk, a night club and lounge in the Meat Farms shopping center on Route 347 in Hauppauge, has seen many different owners and establishments over the years. It has changed hands once again to new owner/managers Ken Alpha, James Arceri and Thomas Shaw who believe great success will come from this new nightlife hot spot.

“We want to keep a top-notch reputation, and for people to be able to see the differences made,” said Alpha.

The new owners have made the decision to rename the place Wall Street after its original predecessor in hopes of bringing back an older, more sophisticated crowd that it once had, Alpha explained.

To create a trendy and upscale feel, Alpha said that many changes were made to the club's interior. For example, where there were previously carpets, porcelain floors from Italy were installed for a high-class look, Arceri said.

In addition to a new-found elegance, the lounge's owners are looking for a sports bar theme to be present as well. To achieve this, Arceri said there will be Happy Hours featuring drink specials, no cover charge, a free buffet and occasional live bands. On Sundays, football games will be played on one of the new 80-inch HD TVs.

“We want the feel of a night club,” Arceri said, “with all the essentials of a pub.”

Wall Street will also be available for people to book for events or special occasions. The business offers catering and have mood lighting to adapt to any occasion, Alpha said.

In an effort to get in touch with the community and local businesses, there will be a display counter during events to feature businesses in the area. According to Arceri, it will be used for promotions and giveaways on these days.

“We are big on working with our business to help surrounding businesses,” Arceri said.

Alpha said he hopes the new establishment will have a completely different feel than before by being open more days, open to a different demographic, having a friendly staff, being corporate friendly and focusing on customer service.

“Service is a big objective,” said Alpha. “We want a relationship that works well with the community.”

Wall Street will be opening in the fall, with the owners revealing the exact opening date in August.
