Christmas is one of the few days of the year where nearly everything's closed, McDonald's and Walmart included. Here's a list of businesses that will be open on Dec. 25.
* Grab bagels for the family on Christmas morning at the Nesconset Bagel Café on Smithtown Boulevard.
* If you want a casual brunch locally both Hauppauge Palace Diner and Hauppauge Paradise Diner will be serving their regular menu plus specials on Christmas.
* Hauppauge’s IHop on Motor Parkway will also be open early on Christmas morning to serve up fluffy pancakes, omelets and more after the family opens presents.
* Going to the movies on Christmas after opening presents is an annual tradition for some families. Hop in the car and head out to AMC Loews kicks things off with a 9:45 a.m. showing of Wreck It Ralph while Island16 in Holtsville will start showings at 10:50 a.m. with Rise of the Guardians.
* Jade Garden Chinese Restaurant, a landmark Chinese restaurant in Hauppauge, will be open all day from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. serving their regular menu.
* It might be true that 7-Eleven doesn't need locks on its doors as it will be open 24/7 on Christmas Day.
