Where Will You Buy Your Christmas Tree?

Do you stay in Smithtown or buy from a town nearby?

Christmas is just two weeks away, which doesn't leave much time to get yourself a tree to put the beautifully wrapped gifts you plan to give your loved ones under.

There aren't too many locations selling trees locally, but some have taken over closed farm stands and other seasonal businesses, such as D'Aiello's, who has sold balsam fur and fraser furs to locals for years from the side of Borella's Farm Stand.

Patch asked Dec. 3 if you preferred a real or a fake tree, so for the real tree lovers, where would you buy a tree locally? Do you shop for a tree in the Town of Smithtown or do you travel to a nearby town to buy one?

We always buy our trees at Olsen's Discount Nursery in Nesconset. In the past, they had a tree lot on 347 next to Taco Bell, but this year it's set up at their main location on South Lake Avenue. The trees are always fresh and last a long time, which id important because we always set ours up early. They're not cheap, but they're very reasonable for the quality you get.

We also have always bought our tree at Olsen's. The quality of their trees is great & the service is outstanding. See you in the spring Leslie. :)

MGM We have been buying our trees at D'Aeillo's for probably the last 12 years. The trees are fresh, well shaped and look beautiful in our hme. The people who sell them are also the growers. They come in from northen Vermont to Smithtown every year. Nice people.

CW I used to purchase live trees from D'Aeillo's years ago but then switched to an artificial tree. Last year I went back to a live tree and purchased from D'Aeillo's. It was so fragrant and the house smelled like Christmas all season. I again purchased from D'Aeillo's. Last year, not only did I water the tree every day, but I also misted the tree at least 3 times a day. It lost very few needles when it was time to throw the tree out. I'm repeating that regimen again this year. Hopefully, I will have the same results. Merry Christmas everyone!
