Hauppauge-Based, ClearVision Optical Donates a Record-Breaking Six Tons of Clothing to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island

As part of a Spring Cleaning clothing drive campaign, Hauppauge-based ClearVision Optical (CVO) donated a record-breaking six tons of clothing to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI), making it the largest clothing drive in the tri-state area to date. This generous donation translates into four children being matched with a “Big”, helping BBBSLI to continue to make a difference in the lives of children who could benefit from a one-to-one mentoring relationship.

“We are proud to be part of such a great cause that not only helps shape the lives of our youth in a positive way, but also helps children in our local community,” said Amanda Cervone, ClearVision Optical’s Talent Management Coordinator. “Philanthropy is part of ClearVision’s core ideology and all 132 members of our work family were fully invested in making our Spring Cleaning clothing drive campaign a success. We are committed to continuing our efforts with BBBSLI throughout the year and making a positive impact in the community we call home.”

CVO has been a partner of BBBSLI for three consecutive years and has donated nearly 12 tons of clothing. Additionally, CVO supports BBBSLI throughout the year and expects to donate an additional 3,000 pounds of clothing by the end of 2014 with the help of the BBBSLI outdoor clothing bin located on CVO’s property.

“ClearVision Optical has been a tremendous partner and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island is grateful for all their support,” said Mark Cox, CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. “Over the past three years the clothing drives that CVO has been a part of has benefitted so many children on Long Island and we look forward to growing our partnership with them and reaching more children.”

One hundred percent of the net proceeds from clothing bin donations support Big Brothers Big Sisters,  enabling the organization to help existing families in the program as well as to reach more of Long Island’s youth in need of additional support.
