#87 - Attend a Free Summer Concert

There are three free summer concert series happening in the Hauppauge and Nesconset this summer.

If you are looking for music to jazz up your summer nights, there are more than a dozen free local concerts in the Hauppauge and Nesconset area this summer.

Escape the house and gather the family together to enjoy a night under the stars listening to favorite songs from the 1940s to the present.

On Tuesday nights, the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce with Suffolk County Legis. John Kennedy, R-Nesconset, present the at the gazebo on Smithtown Boulevard.

Thousands of residents are expected gather over the upcoming weeks, to hear five live concerts featuring tribute bands and a comedy night. The series begins with , a Queens tribute band, and pays tribute to Billy Joel and the 1970s. 

Head over to the Smithtown Branch Shopping Plaza of the Smithtown Special Library District for the Dennis Cannataro Family Summer Concert Series for music on Thursdays at 8 p.m. It kicks off with the Bill Joel tribute band Big Shot on July 7, and continues through Aug. 25. Highlights include Beginnings, a Chicago tribute band, and Strawberry Fields after the first boy band sensation, The Beatles.

The will be hosting a Summer Concert Series on Friday nights, starting at 7 p.m., sponsored by the Friends of the Arts. Watch the All Good Friends musical group sing a variety of the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s on July 8, followed by the Just 60s Band on July 22 and blues guitarist on Aug. 5. Registration is required.

Between the three summer concert series, there's sure to be music to suit everyone's tastes. So grab a chair, kick back, relax and enjoy the show.
