Corrections And Clarifications

We here at Hauppauge Patch take transparency seriously. We are committed to accuracy, to acknowledging our mistakes, and fixing them as quickly as possible. Corrections are marked with an asterisk (*) in stories where errors have been fixed, accompanied by an editor's note in italics at the bottom of the story.

We do our best to get the facts right, but to err is human. If you see a factual error in a story, tell us about it and we'll get to work on setting the record straight and making any necessary corrections. 

Recent Corrections:

 - Correction : One of the photos accompanying this article was incorrectly identified as the grave of Thomas Wheeler, the founder of Hauppauge. While the grave does belong to a Thomas Wheeler, of the Wheeler family, is not that of the first homestead owner but a family member in later generations. 

- Correction: Patch would like to add that Eagles captain Adam Lepowsky, wrestling at the 140 pound class, advanced to the Suffolk County semi finals  and is now headed for the finals. It was inaccurately reported that only three wrestlers had advanced, not accounting for Lepowsky's placement.
