Dec. 22: Holiday Concerts, Gingerbread and Wrestling

Wednesday's events focuses on raising your spirits and seasonal treats.

Wednesday celebrates the holiday season with music to lift your spirits and seasonal treats. Enjoy the last holiday concert before Christmas or snatch up some gingerbread. Take a moment to enjoy the season, creating new memories with loved ones and friends.

1. 's chamber choir and orchestra will perform a at the Perry B. Duryea state office building on Veterans Highway at 11 a.m. This annual performance has been talked about for weeks as a must-see event.

 2. Enjoy seasonal treats at at the Nesconset Branch of the Smithtown Public Library from 7 - 8 p.m. There is a $5 materials fee during in-person registration, call ahead to check for open spots.

3. will be holding a session of their   for students volunteers in grades 6 to 12. Teens are invited to meet library staff to discuss its teen collection, plan upcoming library events and discuss volunteer opportunities.

4.  Hauppauge Boys Wrestling has held a few non-league meets in preparation for the upcoming league season this January. Patch caught up with the team for a preview this afternoon.

5. Patch Trivia - Christmas Break: Hauppauge public schools will be closed from Dec. 23 - Dec. 31 for winter recess. It's the last school day in 2010.
