Ruth Meador, a Holocaust survivor, will speak about how she was rescued from the Nazis by the Kindertransport.  She speaks for those who did not survive the Shoah, and for the generations of unborn children who would surely have contributed to making the world a better place. Sunday, 7 p.m. Temple Beth Chai of Hauppauge.

Smiles for Stefani 5k Run/Walk

The Smiles FOR Stefani 5K Run/Walk hosted by the Smithtown Children's Foundation will be a celebration of the life of little Stefani Felber who was diagnosed with a brain tumor before she was a year old and who against all odds, is about to celebrate her fourth birthday on April 7. 7:30 a.m. registration,9:00am Run, 9:15am walk, Sunday morning.

Art Exhibition

Exhibition juror James Henry Rubin’s exhibit call for entries noted that reflection be either a physical or a psychological phenomenon. Together they evoke the interplay between perception and conception. He selected 42 artists for the exhibition, which will include 68 artworks in a wide variety of media including watercolor, oil, charcoal, bronze, archival prints, mixed media sculpture and more. Includes work by Kings Park artist, Pamela Waldroup. Friday, 10 a.m.

Adoption Day at Petco Lake Grove

Head to the Lake Grove Petco- shop, rescue a dog and make a friend for life. Puppies and adult dogs available. Saturday, 11 a.m.
