Five Places Serving Meals for the Needy this Thanksgiving

A list of local churches and shelters offering free dinners throughout the week for those less fortunate this holiday season.

Thanksgiving is a holiday whose traditions center around sitting down to share a meal with friends and family. With a turkey or ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied yams, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin or apple pie, the costs of purchasing supplies for Thanksgiving dinner quickly add up.

Unfortunately, not everyone in our community can afford such a meal. Here's our list of five nearby churches and shelters offering free meals for the less fortunate on Thanksgiving week:
