Five Places to Watch Fireworks This Weekend

Our pick of local hotspots for fireworks, music and parades from July 2 to July 4.

The Fourth of July is about fireworks, parades, barbecues and did we mention more fireworks. Although you won't find any professional firework shows in Hauppauge, we've put together a list of nearby shows to head out to with the family this weekend.

 

Brookhaven Star Spangled Blast

Watch a dazzling display of Long Island's own Grucci fireworks from one of the highest points on Long Island, the Brookhaven Amphitheater on Bald Hill, on the Fourth of July. The Long Island Philharmonic will perform at 7:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Permanent seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Where: Brookhaven amphitheater, 1 Bicycle Path, Farmingdale
When: Gates open 4:30 p.m., fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

North Patchogue Fire Department Carnival

The North Patchogue Fire Department will host is annual carnival features rides, games, food and deserts from July 1 to July 4. Free fireworks by Grucci will be held on Saturday and Sunday night.

Where: 95 N Service Road, Patchogue (Raymour and Flanigan)
When: carnival is open noon to 10 p.m. daily, fireworks at dusk on July 2 and 3.
Cost: Varies per activity.

 

St. Anthony's 20th Annual Family Feast and Festival
The St. Anthony of Padua Parish in East Northport is holding its 20th annual festival featuring carnival rides, fireworks, international foods, music, game and more through July 3.

The fireworks will be held on Saturday at dusk. It's fun for the entire family.

Where: Trinity Regional School, 1025 5th Ave., East Northport
When:
Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Cost: $12 pay one price, $5 seniors.

 

Freedom Fest Concert @ LI Ducks

The Long Island Ducks and Country 96.1FM will be hosting a Freedom Fest Concert on July 3 featuring Long Road to Love, Jacob Lyda, Sarah Darling, Due West, Bad Horse and Lisa Mattasa. There will be a firework display by Grucci Fireworks.

Where: Bethpage Ballpark, 3 Court House Drive, Central Islip
When: Gates open at 5 p.m., concert starts at 6 p.m.
Cost: $25 for general admission, $35 field and $45 club level seats. Tickets are available online.

 

Port Jefferson Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks
The Village of Port Jefferson will host a Fourth of July Parade at 10 a.m., followed by a fireworks display at East Beach at dusk. The immediate viewing areas for fireworks are East Beach and West Beach have been designated for residents only, so ask a friend or they might be best viewed from afar.

When: Parade is at 10 a.m., fireworks at dusk
Cost: Free, although immediate viewing areas are residents only.
