This Wednesday, residents are presented with ways to give back to their community.

Hauppauge residents have multiple opportunities to give back to their local community this Wednesday.  They can volunteer, join the Hauppauge Rotary or participate in a charity auction. Read on to find out how you can be involved.

2. Tired of cooking the same old dish for dinner? Try a few local tastings at Whole Foods on New Moriches Road in Lake Grove from 4:30 p.m. to 6;30 p.m. Taste samples throughout the store as you shop.

3. Forget eBay and place a bid in . Residents have through June 30 to place a bid on the dozen s of items being offer to raise funds for programs designed to help children avoid off crime and drug use.

4. The Town of Islip clerk is preparing to receive up to 200 applications for marriage licenses following New York's approval of same-sex marriages. Read more about the preparations on Patch.

5. Reminder, the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Public library is closed as the library is moving rom to the Nesconset Armory. All scheduled classes and meetings have been cancelled or will be rescheduled.
