Smithtown: An early morning fire Friday destroyed a historic Nissequogue home after a problem with water made it impossible for firefighters from 10 local fire departments to quench the flames.

Commack: Restaurateur Accused of Sex Abuse
  co-owner Tom Lam, 39, of Flushing, was arrested by Nassau County police on charges of allegedly making forcible sexual contact with an employee at the company's Westbury restaurant.

Kings Park: Police: Woman in Possession of Stolen Property from Nassau, Suffolk 
Suffolk County police arrested Danielle Giannini, 30, of Kings Park, and Justin Llewellyn, 23, after allegedly fleeing the scene of an attempted car robbery. Police said they found GPS units, laptops, iPods, and other items stolen from Suffolk and Nassau vehicles in the couple's possession.

Dix hills residents were advised to boil their water after two water samples tested positive for Coliform bacteria on Dec. 27 and Dec. 28.
