No Power Restored In Hauppauge for Homes, Businesses

LIPA power authority reports 8,039 power outages in Hauppauge, relatively unchanged since Wednesday morning.

Hauppauge residents and business owners wondering when power will be restored might have to wait a little longer. 

Long Island Power Authority reports that 8,039 Hauppauge homes and businesses remain without power as of 7:18 p.m. Wednesday. That number remains relatively unchanged since 8 a.m. Wednesday, when 8,035 customers were without power according to LIPA's Outage Map. 

Hauppauge residents are not alone in the dark. There are 50,431 outages in the Town of Smthtown as of 7:18 p.m. Wednesday, according to LIPA's Outage Map.

LIPA reports there are 383,508 outages in Suffolk County as of 7:18 p.m Wednesday, down from 409,662 outages at 6 a.m.

The utility welcomed extra crews to Long Island to help quickly assess the damage and restore power to the more than 850,000 customers still without power.
