Not To Miss: Islandia Village Hosts Memorial Day Ceremony

Honor those who have served by attending the Village of Islandia's Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Triangle.

As people are finishing work and kicking off their three-day weekend, you can easily find yourself lost in a blurr of backyard barbecues, sports tournaments and planning trips to the beach.

Take a moment to pause and celebrate Memorial Day, a national holiday that honors those men and woman who have served in the United States Armed forces.

The Village of Islandia will be hosting a Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. on Veterans Memorial Triangle, at the intersection of Johnson Avenue and Old Nichols Road, to honor local veterans and those currently serving. The ceremony will involve an invocation and wreath laying. The U.S. Marine Corps Helicopter Squadron 361 in Cutchogue will perform a fly-over in a Sikorsky UH-34D helicopter during the ceremony.
