This Friday ends the work week with a class or two before swinging into full weekend mode. Learn how to search for a job to increase your odds of landing one next week. Also, as Long Island Restaurant week comes to a close, learn what Hauppauge participant has big news to announce.

1. Wishing you had a job to head to next week? Join Amy Datkun of to learn new at Smithtown Public Library's Main Branch, 11:30 a.m. The class will cover everything from preparing for the search to interview skills. It's free and open to all.

2 & 3. If you've had a long day at work, travel to the nearby Staller Center for the Arts for two films. First up is at 7 p.m., followed by at 9:30 p.m.

4. week enters its final stretch, as the $24.95 three-course prixe fix menu ends this Sunday.  and The Grill Room in the industrial park are both participating, details are.

5. The Grill Room has big news to announce. It's come under new ownership, though people might be surprised to a familiar face waits to welcome them. Patch will feature the new owner in its first restaurant review later today.
