Nov. 19: Meditation, Nocturnal Creatures and Diwali

Friday brings a mix of events with positive news on unemployment.

This Friday brings a mix of leisure events for people with different interests. Relax with meditation, or learn about creatures that are active at night.

1.  Unwind from pressures of the work week at  at 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Nesconset branch of Smithtown Public Library. This free class teaches practical methods to promote inner peace and anxiety.

2. Find out what goes bump in the night at . Sweet Briar Nature Center brings families with children 5 and up about creatures that live in the dark. Rain will cancel the event.

3. Suffolk County its at 6:30 p.m. in the H. Lee Dennison Building. Celebrate the Indian Festival of Lights with cultural displays, dancing and Indian cuisine.
