On 10th Anniversary of Iraq War, Hauppauge Remembers Jared Jason Kremm

Hauppauge High School graduate died in the line of duty in 2005.

The 2003 invasion of Iraq began 10 years ago this week, and although the war is officially over, the toll it took on Hauppauge endures.

In honor of the anniversary, Patch remembers Lance Cpl. Jared Jason Kremm, a former Hauppauge High School graduate who died in the line of duty on Oct. 27, 2005, in an indirect fire explosion in Saqlawiyah, Iraq. He was 24 years old, and was one of two Marines killed in the blast.

By one count, the Iraq war is directly responsible for 189,000 deaths, not including those who died from hardship caused by the fighting.
