Photo of the Day: Coca-Cola Makes Donation to Island Harvest
Mega-food retailer and distributor Coca-Cola donates goods to Hauppauge nonprofit.
A Hauppauge nonprofit organization received a large boost to its holiday food drive from an unexpected source.
Coca-Cola donated 50 cases of Coca-Cola products to the Island Harvest's Hauppauge warehouse facilities on Dec. 30, 2011 as part of state Sen. Lee Zeldin's 2011 Holiday Food Drive.
Zeldin, R-Shirley, wrote a letter to the corporation requesting their participation in his food drive competition. They answered the call and delivered the goods to Island Harvest, who distributes food to the needy and homeless across Nassau and Suffolk counties.
