PHOTOS: Irene Wrecks Havoc on Hauppauge

Strong winds downs trees, while heavy rains flooded local streets making it difficult to navigate.

Hurricane Irene's strong winds and rains caused heavy damages in Hauppauge. Residents are emerging from their homes to find downed trees and wires, snapped utility poles and flooded streets. 

Several local streets are partially closed including: Hoffman Lane, Blydenburgh Road, Northern Boulevard and Townline Road.
