PHOTOS: Songs In The Attic Wows Crowds

Billy Joel tribute band rockets Nesconset Free Concert Series Tuesday night in their first live performance.

More than 1,500 residents attended Songs in the Attic's debut performance at the Nesconset Free Summer Concert Series Tuesday night.

The Billy Joel tribute band kept concertgoers singing along with favorites including "We Didn't Start the Fire" "Only the Good Die Young" to "Movin' Out."

Prior to the performance, Legis. John Kennedy Jr., R-Nesconset, and Jim Delahanty, vice president of Nesconset Chamber of Commerce, presented the 9-1-1 veterans organization with a $300 check from donations at the July 12 concert. The Lindenhurst-based nonprofit assists veterans in paying bills, seeking health care and readjusting to civilian life.

Long Island Cares continued its partnership with the chamber, accepting monetary donations and collecting non-perishable food items for the hungry.

That 70's Band will take to the stage of the Nesconset gazebo for the next performance in the concert series on July 26 at 7:30 p.m.
