Red Mango Prepares For Move Into Hauppauge

Frozen yogurt store prepares for April opening in Hauppauge Shopping Center.

Local residents shopping in the Hauppauge Shopping Center have noticed loud noise and action focusing on a vacant storefront.

Frozen yogurt company Red Mango is preparing to open its doors in the Hauppauge Shopping Center, at the former site of Midnite Sun Tanning.

The tan facade of 385 Smithtown Bypass is faded, worn stone clearly reading "Tanning" above a green handicapped ramp entrance. Yet, Singas customers and staff can tell you there's been the sounds of jackhammering and the front glass papered over to prevent looking in.

The frozen yogurt company serving up all-natural frozen yogurt with probiotics was created in South Korea. Its chief concept officer Daniel Kim brought the concept to the United States. Red Mango is known for selling its all-natural frozen yogurt with probiotics that is then made into parfaits, smoothies, hot chocolate chillers and probiotic ice teas to list a few.

The Hauppauge store will be run by Samantha Goldsmith, a current Red Mango franchise owner, according to spokeswoman Monica Feid. It's expected to open come April.
