Nesconset Concertgoers Donate to 9-1-1 Veterans

Attendees of the Nesconset Free Summer Concert series have raised more than $1,000 for local nonprofit.

Local residents donated more than $750 to benefit Long Island veterans at the Nesconset Free Summer Concert Series on July 19. 

For the second week, Legis. John Kennedy Jr., R-Nesconset, and his aides passed a coffee can through the audience to raise donations for 9-1-1 Veterans. The Lindenhurst-based nonprofit organization that provides emergency assistence to activy duty or honorably discharged veterans, their spouses and dependents in paying basic living expenses such as mortgages, rent, utilities, medical bills and food. 

Chris Delaney, president of 9-1-1 Veterans, was on hand to accept a $300 check for donations raised as the prior July 12 show. To date, more than $1,050 has been raised for the nonprofit.
