Children gathered to celebrate the DVD release event of Dr. Suess’ The Lorax at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove on Tuesday.
Newsday reports that the Simon Kidgits Club sponsored a promotional party for the movie, which involved various crafts that related to The Lorax for the kids to participate in.
The movie’s main theme was about the environment, and the different craft stations at the event reflected this to the children. According to Newsday, activities included; planting flowers in biodegradable pots and making paper “truffula trees,” among other things.
The Lorax DVD was raffled off to the crowd towards the end of the event also, Newsday said.
