Snow Closures And Cancellations Across Hauppauge

Schools, libraries and businesses are changing plans due to the oncoming snowstorm.

Hauppauge school district published the following message on their website:  

"Due to inclement weather conditions, all after school activities are cancelled for today, Wednesday, January 26, 2011."

staff confirmed that its Cyberbullying and Social Network Safety class scheduled for 7 p.m. has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for a future date, with details to come. 

In advance of the snowfall, the library has also announced that all programs scheduled for Thursday have been canceled.

While businesses are making the tough decision to stay open or close early, Hauppauge Industrial Association of Long Island has postponed their their 'Long Island Economic Summit... Surveying the Current & Future of LI Business" originally scheduled for 7:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. Thursday at the Melville Marriott.   The event has been rescheduled for Feb. 24.
