Strong winds and periods of heavy rain on Long Island have created pockets of power outages across Hauppauge.
Long Island Power Authority is reporting 132 Hauppauge customers are without power as of 9 a.m. Friday, accounting for the majority of 145 power outages in the Town of Smithtown.
The National Weather Service has issued both a High Wind Warning through noon Friday, as winds gusting between 25 to 35 mph are expected. These winds along with expected rainfall, meterologist advise residents to be careful of downed trees, powerlines and to be careful while driving.
According to LIPA's outage map, Hauppauge's outages aren't expected to be repaired until 3 p.m.
