Volunteers Work Hard to Finish 9/11 Responders Memorial [VIDEO]

Earthquakes, hurricanes and heavy rains could not stop laborers from finish most of the memorial for its unveiling.

Local 66 volunteers worked late into Friday evening to make sure the 9/11 Responders Remembered memorial would be ready for its unveiling.

"We are going to be here until it's done. As long as it takes," laborers said as the sun set.

Peter Zarcone, an executive board member of Building Laborers Local 66, said he has worked 14-hour shifts with four other volunteers over the past two days to make sure the memorial would be ready to be unveiled. And, that's only a small part of the countless hours the volunteers have put in over the past five months of construction.

The construction of the memorial has had several setbacks over the past month, as earthquakes, hurricanes and heavy rains delayed the pouring of the memorial's foundation and construction of the black granite memorial.

But for Zarcone, seeing the project finally come together into a memorial park is worth every minute.
