Hauppauge Superintendent Patricia Sullivan-Kriss debuted her proposed $98.5 million budget for the 2012-13 school year that includes plans to hire seven full-time teachers and purchase two minibuses for the school district.

Hauppauge Board of Ed. Approves New Teachers Contract
Hauppauge Public Schools board trustees voted in favor of adopting a new contract agreed to by the Hauppauge Teachers Association. The contract calls for 0 percent raise and a full step increase this year, a 1.25 percent salary raise and half-step increase for the next two years.

Nearly one year after opening, The Wobbly Olive in Hauppauge's Industrial Park will close its doors on March 3 for renovations and open under a new name - Barringtons.

6 Trucks Taken Off Roadways for Safety Violations
Suffolk County police and state law officials took six cargo trucks off local roadways for violations of safety and issued 54 summonses during a five-hour commercial trucking sting on Tuesday night.
