Week in Review: Boy Dies After Falling in Pool, Bomb Threat

A Hauppauge boy has died after falling into his backyard pool on Sunday, despite his father's best efforts to save him. 


The all clear has been given at Islip Town Hall following another bomb scare on Tuesday, the fourth over the past 10 months.


A stop work order has been issued by the Town of Smithtown at the former home of  on West Main Street, the soon-to-be home of Nino's Delicatessen.


Three new stores have opened their doors, filling empty retail spaces in Lake Grove and Stony Brook. 


Following last summer's storm which left trees downed and power out across Smithtown, the Federal Emergency Management Agency approved a reimbursement for $1 million to the Town of Smithtown.
