Boy Scouts Bring Color Back to Bretton Woods
Boy Scouts revived the faded colors of Bretton Woods playground over the weekend, combining patriotism with a learning experience. 

Bear Cub Scouts from Pack 589, based out of Bretton Woods Elementary School, worked with their parents on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13 to repaint a long faded, often unnoticed map of the United States on the fifth grade playground.


Hooters in Islandia will be closing to give birth to a new restaurant.

Edward McCabe, an attorney for Strix Restaurant Group, which owns the franchise rights to Hooters locations on Long Island and Queens, said he will be closing the East Meadow location and there that there will be changes made to the other Hooters locations - including Islandia. 


A Brentwood man has been arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated with his 4-year-old daughter and wife in the car.

Car Accident Disrupts Gas Main Repair on Main Street
A car accident between a first responder vehicle and another car occured Saturday afternoon on West Main Street while National Grid workers and firefighters from the Smithtown Fire Department were fixing a gas leak.
