Hauppauge Nonprofit Receives $200K Donation For Sandy Victims

A Hauppauge non-profit organization received a generous $200,000 donation to help Long Island families get back into their homes after Hurricane Sandy.

Sonic franchisees have filed a lawsuit against the Town of Smithtown's Board of Zoning Appeals over the rights to build a drive-in restaurant in Nesconset. 

Town Shares Guidelines for Trashing Christmas Trees

The Town of Smithtown Highway Department said that their Christmas tree detail is in full force and that residents need only to place the tree by the curb and the town will pick it up with regular garbage.

Islip Sandy Relief Center Closing

The Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Center at Islip Town Hall West will be closing Sunday. Local residents still in need of assistance can visit the center from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. A center in Mastic is also closing the same day.

Local travelers flying in and out of Long Island MacArthur Airport over the next few days may see some famous faces.
