Weekly Planner: Origami, Long Island History

Here's what's happening in and around Hauppauge this week.

 

Smithtown Center for Performing Arts will host an education program, "The Golden Age of Broadway", for a 3 week session.  Monday- Friday, ages 7-18.

Take a unique tour of Long Island history beginning at the Sagtikos Manor, where  George Washington slept. Then on to a mini tour of Sayville where you will have the chance to explore the shops and enjoy lunch on your own. After lunch head to Captree and relax on one of the larger covered boats that cruise out on the Great South Bay. Wednesday, 9 a.m.

Event tees off at the Great Rock Golf Club, noon on Wednesday. Barbeque lunch, golf, networking and a good cause. Outing willl benefit the Children of Angela's House.

A week long event at Stony Brook University's Wang center which features several events around the Japanese art of paper folding. Starts Monday, 11 a.m.

Teens are invited to enjoy an evening of fun in a supervised drug and alcohol free environment. Middle school and high school students can play volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, bocce, arts & crafts, sing karoake or play games. Tuesday, 6 p.m. Hoyt Farm.
