How Much Do You Know About Probiotics?

Probiotics for everybody.

How Much Do You Know About Probiotics? Awareness of the benefits of probiotics is growing.

“For life” is the literal translation of the Greek-derived term probiotic, and a pretty good summation of its benefits as well. Because a true probiotic supplement only contains “good” strains of bacteria to help support digestive health and comfort, as well as healthy immune system function—all that affect your quality of living. Probiotics are no longer reserved for use only when digestive symptoms appear.

As more people understand their value, probiotics are increasing in popularity as a proactive daily health maintenance routine. In fact, a 2010 survey by MaCorr Research found that nearly 75 percent of the 2,000 American adult respondents correctly identified that probiotics help support the natural balance of intestinal microorganisms.

What defines a true probiotic? The incredible growth of probiotic products may seem like a good thing. Except a number of so-called probiotics fail to meet recognized criteria, such as strain identification, purity testing, and confirmation of beneficial and safe use. Or they may be formulated with strains of bacteria without an adequate amount of human research. In either case, you might not get the health support you expect. Get personalized probiotic support. Different probiotic strains have unique benefits and are useful for specific applications to meet individual needs.

Yo Paully, you must really be some piece-of-work if you've got nothing better to do then antagonize me for writing about nutrition and nutritional supplements...

Hi Eric, Interesting that you mentioned not all probiotics are tested adequately. Would you be able to share names of those particular brands and did you contact them for a comment? Dipti Kumar, journalist

Dear Social Worker, this is the 2nd time that you & your friend Paul have attacked me for trying to give sound nutritional advice to people who might not know about an esoteric subject like probiotics. I would like to invite you to stop in the store anytime and continue this conversation with me like a person that has a little intestinal flora, rather then hiding cowardly behind an anonymous name...like "social worker", which I doubt you really are anyway....
