$7K Raised at The Rinx for Boston Marathon Victims

Suffolk County Hockey Leagues held a Memorial Day Tournament to benefit the One Fund Boston Foundation.

A fundraiser at The Rinx in Hauppauge last week raised $7,000 for victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Suffolk County Hockey Leagues held a Memorial Day Tournament to raise money and awareness for the One Fund Boston Foundation. The foundation was started by Gov.Deval Patrick (D-Mass.) and Boston Mayor Tom Menino, to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred.

 “We would like to recognize everyone who participated for helping to make this event so successful,” SCHL Founder and CEO Michael Governara said.

The One Fund Boston is an ongoing effort to raise money to help those families most affected by the events that took place during the 2013 Boston Marathon. Those interested in giving or learning more about the foundation can email suffolkcountyhockeyleagues.com or visit onefundboston.org.
