Islandia Village Hosting Blood Drive

Residents of Islandia and the American Red Cross are joining together for a “Communities That Care” blood drive on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel at 3635 Express Drive North in Islandia. A “Communities That Care” blood drive is a Red Cross initiative to engage local citizens and boost regional blood supplies by enlisting community support.

The Red Cross is asking eligible blood donors of all blood types to donate blood during the winter months to strengthen the community’s blood supply. 

According to the Red Cross, local blood donors are needed all year round to ensure the blood supply stays strong. Approximately every two seconds a patient in the United States needs blood.

All presenting donors will receive a free Red Cross t-shirt. Walk-ins are always welcome, but donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by visiting redcrossblood.org.
