Novak Motors Hosting Charity Car Show

Novak Motors in Hauppauge will host its first car show Sunday to benefit the Rose Brucia Educational Foundation.

The Foundation, which is based in Islandia, is a not-for-profit organization that works to reduce the number of child abductions in the United States by empowering young minds through awareness and education.

Joe Coreno, director of operations at Novak Motors, decided to team up with the foundation after striking a friendship with its founder, Michael Barbis.

"My wife is an educator so I've seen the impact that it has in schools," he said of the foundation, adding that his experience has made the cause "near and dear" to him.

Sponsored by Novak Motors, The Fabulous 50s and 60s Nostalgia Car Club of Long Island, and Fusion Auto Finance, the show will feature classic cars, a swap meet, food, 50/50 raffle, music by Stylin Sounds DJ, vendors and much more. Trophies will be awarded for “Best in Class” and “Best in Show."

Coreno said that the show will be a family event, complete with face painting, a puppet show, snowcones, a DJ and other entertainment.

Admission is $5 per person, $15 per family, and $15 per car entry. All admission fees will be donated to The Rose Brucia Educational Foundation.

Additionally, Novak Motors will make a donation to the organization for each car that they sell. For more information on corporate sponsorships, registration or becoming a vendor, contact Laura Hingle or Joe Coreno at (631) 787-7437.

In case of rain, the show will take place Aug. 4.
